Reno (NV) – Nevada Gay Men’s Chorus presents their annual spring concert. This time it is Red, White & Fabulous: An American Music Retrospective on Friday, June 3, 2016, 7:30 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 Island Avenue, Reno, Nevada.
AN EXPLORATION OF AMERICAN MUSIC
NGMC is excited to present an evening of exploration of American music from three perspectives: the Native American, the European settler, and the African American. You’ll hear music from great American composers like Moses Hogan, Randall Thompson, and Aaron Copland. You will be taken back in time with songs from the American experience—from Battle Hymn of the Republic to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, from Shenandoah to Ain’t No Mountain High Enough. This concert will make your heart swell with pride! Please join NGMC in celebrating American music that binds us together and keeps us discovering those connections—as in the words of Chief Seattle, “This we know: the earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all.”
Book your tickets early as this celebration will fill up fast. Tickets cost $20 for general admission and $15 for seniors and students.
